More about us
Who We Are
Clawson-EnergySolutionsJV is an SBA Mentor-Protégé joint venture combining Clawson Excavating's decades of remote mine remediation in the Four Corners region with EnergySolutions' thirty-year record as a licensed radiological contractor under the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Clawson Excavating was founded by Liz Clawson, a Navajo Nation citizen and Native American Woman-Owned Small Business operating under SBA 8(a). The firm has managed heavy earth-moving on over 83 remote uranium and coal mine sites across Navajo Nation land in New Mexico and Arizona.
EnergySolutionsbrings NRC licensing, radiological characterization, and waste management expertise that extends the JV's capability to the full project lifecycle — from initial site assessment through final waste disposal and regulatory closure.

What We Do

Schmitt Decline Mine
The Schmitt Decline Mine is the first project initiated under New Mexico's Abandoned Uranium Mine Reclamation Initiative — a state program addressing legacy uranium contamination in the Grants Mining District.
